Les Bezards - Château de Minière - Bourgueil

Les Bezards 2018

These century-old vines are breathtaking in their complexity in this sunny vintage. The cuvée, Les Bezards, is certainly the richest and densest from Château de Minière.

Terroir

90- to 110-year-old vines on the limestone and clay-sand soils of the Bourgueil hillsides facing south, between the forested plateau and the terraces of the Loire.

Harvest

The grapes from century-old vines are hand-harvested across all the estate's old vine plots. The harvest is transported in small crates to the winery. The grapes are destemmed by hand.

Winemaking

The raw material, entirely free of plant matter, is placed into 500-liter winemaking barrels. No yeast or chaptalization is added. After a 30-day maceration period, the wines were transferred into one- and two-year-old barrels.
