Touraine
The Touraine vineyard, crossed by the Loire River and its tributaries (Cher, Indre, Vienne), extends over soils dominated by tuffeau, an emblematic chalk from the Mesozoic Era.
This geological and hydrological diversity, combined with vintage variations, gives Touraine appellation wines a great variety of styles and profiles.
The whites can be produced from Chenin, Sauvignon, Arbois and Chardonnay, while the reds and rosés use Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay, Côt, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris and Pineau d’Aunis, with specific grape varieties such as Grolleau and Gamay de Chaudenay or de Bouze reserved for rosés.
