The Château du Hureau vineyard spans about twenty plots totaling approximately 20 hectares, across the communes of Dampierre-sur-Loire, Souzay-Champigny, and Saumur.
Differences in soil texture, depth above the tuffeau bedrock, exposure, distance from the Loire, altitude... the origin of the plants, and of course the age of the vines, give each plot its own unique potential.
Certified organic in 2011, the estate managed by Philippe and Georges Vatan is the subject of meticulous care.
